Bernhard Huber, Spätburgunder Malterdingener Bienenberg Wildenstein GG 2020

Weathered red shell limestone. There's another level here. A gorgeous intensity of red fruit and floral aroma with an earthy component of chanterelle or summer truffle. Another indication of mastery (or perhaps its mastery in the cellar coupled with a great "grand cru" site) is the way the wine is proportioned and thus far I've only smelled it. The palate confirms but there's also an assertiveness to the flavor that exceeds that of the other Bienenberg bottling. Wonderful wine.
