Friedrich Becker, Spätburgunder Schweigener Sonnenberg KB GG 2019
Disclosure: I have a commercial relationship with this producer. See my ethics and disclosure policy.
KB=Kammerberg. This vineyard is located in France, sitting in the French part of the Sonnenberg vineyard. Weathered limestone, loam, and clay over pure limestone subsoil. Great depth of aroma with black cherries macerated in liqueur and presented in a sophisticated package of toasted oak. The flavors are even more intense on the palate, fully ripe with present but polished tannins. It has good structure, suggesting a long life ahead.
