Friedrich Becker, Spätburgunder Schweigener Sankt Paul GG 2023
Disclosure: I have a commercial relationship with this producer. See my ethics and disclosure policy.
Fassprobe (cask sample). A south-facing slope near the last remaining watchtower the monks built for defense. Limestone. A bright nose with more red-fruited character than Kammerberg, with lifted red cherry and raspberry aromas, mixed with savory herbs and crushed red flowers. The palate shows a linear attack of cherry, mineral, and highly focused acidity. Superb length and definition of flavors.
