Friedrich Becker, Spätburgunder Schweigener Heydenreich GG 2023

Disclosure: I have a commercial relationship with this producer. See my ethics and disclosure policy.

Fassprobe (cask sample). A Gewann of the Sonnenberg and the coolest site for the Becker GG Pinots. Muschelkalk (shell limestone). Fragrant and multi-layered nose of black cherries, blueberries, savory herbs, and crushed dried flowers. The wood on the nose and palate doesn't detract from the gorgeous fruit purity, supported by finely integrated tannins and a bright acidic core. Sumptuous and impressive now, and undoubtedly built for magnificence down the road.
