Ökonomierat Rebholz, Riesling Burrweiler Schäwer GG 2025
Disclosure: I have a commercial relationship with this producer. See my ethics and disclosure policy.
Not far from Siebeldingen and Rebholz's famous limestone, Im Sonnenschein is an entirely different, unusual terroir in the region: the sandstone-and-Devon-slate site of Schäwer, a protected site with a 30% gradient. Schäwer is a newer Rebholz Riesling site, managed separately by Hans and Valentin—a focused, mineral nose accented by green herbs, citrus blossoms, and aniseed. The nose and palate show a distinct, smoky mineral character, finishing with lingering acidity and saltiness.
