Friedrich Becker, Spätburgunder Schweigener Sankt Paul GG 2019

Disclosure: I have a commercial relationship with this producer. See my ethics and disclosure policy.

Listed as Weingut Friedrich Becker Spätburgunder Schweigen SP GG Pfalz 2019. SP=Sankt Paul. This vineyard is located in France. Kalkstein. Once again, you get the sense there's a good amount of wood, but it is consumed by sumptuous ripe fruit leaning towards black cherries, raspberries, and plums. The toast and char of French barrels can be felt on the plate, but it never seems intrusive. These wines have structure and grip, best to drink after a few years of aging.
