Franz Keller, Chardonnay Oberrotweiler Kirchberg GG 2024

A producer style I happen to like and whose Pinot Noirs I've rated highly in the past. The most overtly oaky Chardonnay of the flight; however, it seems tight and non-oxidative, with very light toasting. Cut hay and Chamomile interplay with the toasted brioche lent by new oak. Golden Delicious apple and lemon infuse the palate with wood and reductive notes, leaving a fresh "Germanic" alternative to white Burgundy.
