Franz Keller, Spätburgunder Achkarrener Schlossberg GG 2020
These Baden Schlossberg 2020s have been some of the top-performing Pinots today. These are serious and showy in the best possible sense. Once again, a pungent, Vosne-Romanée-like nose, dare I say Richebourg-esque, with really no obvious oak, just a pungency of earth and herbs mingled with ripe black cherry fruit. The flavors continue to the palate in near-perfect grand cru proportions. What a wine.
